maRTINA bAUHAUS FOR DISTRICT COURT JUDGE DEPT. 23

Martina Bauhaus is running for District Court Judge to uphold the rule-of-law, end judicial activism, and ensure justice for Nevadans.

MEET MARTINA

Martina is a proud first-generation American citizen. She immigrated from Germany to the United States in 1994 after marrying an American soldier. Raised by a single mother, Martina learned early the value of hard work, perseverance, and personal responsibility — values she now passes on to her daughter as a single mother herself.

Martina brings over twenty years of legal experience in both civil and criminal law. She currently serves as Assistant General Counsel for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), where she advises on complex legal matters, supports law enforcement operations, and ensures compliance with constitutional standards. Her extensive courtroom experience includes handling high-stakes civil litigation and criminal cases, giving her a deep understanding of how the justice system impacts victims, defendants, and officers alike. Throughout her career, she has learned that judicial temperament and a firm grounding in the Constitution matter as much as legal knowledge. A judge must remain composed under pressure, foster respect in the courtroom, and not be afraid to make the hard calls.

As a lifelong public servant, Martina understands the importance of equal justice under the law. She is committed to serving the community with integrity by applying the law fairly and impartially — even when there is pressure to ignore it, particularly in criminal cases.

It’s time to bring true justice to Clark County.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

  • Uphold the Rule of Law

The Constitution and statutes enacted by our elected representatives, from the Founding Fathers to the Nevada Legislature, form the foundation of our republic. These laws reflect timeless principles of justice and order. Martina Bauhaus will strictly uphold the law as written, without personal bias or political agenda.

  • End Judicial Activism

Judges do not have the authority to rewrite laws or impose their own policy preferences from the bench. Martina will deliver justice by applying the law exactly as written, based on facts and evidence. No more legislating from the courtroom.  The era of judicial activism ends with her election.

  • Equal Justice for All Nevadans

The law must apply equally to every person, regardless of background, wealth, or political beliefs. Martina is committed to fair, impartial rulings that treat every litigant with dignity and respect while protecting victims and holding offenders accountable. No special treatment. No favoritism. Justice for all.
